Tryout FAQ

Athletes in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. All positions are welcome — quarterbacks, skill positions, linemen, and specialists all get position-specific evaluation periods. 30 spots per grade, 90 total.

Players are placed by current school grade, and the official age cutoff is August 1st:
• 6th-grade team members can't turn 13 before 8/1/26 — born on or after 8/1/2013.
• 7th-grade team members can't turn 14 before 8/1/26 — born on or after 8/1/2012.
• 8th-grade team members can't turn 15 before 8/1/26 — born on or after 8/1/2011.
Playing up a grade division is allowed; playing down is not permitted — no exceptions.

Yes — we're building a 10u team (players who can't turn 11 before 8/1/26, the same August 1st cutoff). Join the 10u interest list and we'll reach out as the team comes together — it's free and takes under a minute.

Your full tryout session: check-in, measurables, position-group drills, live evaluation periods, and a written evaluation. A processing & service fee is added at checkout — $23.31 total when paying by card or Cash App; buy-now-pay-later options (Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm) carry a slightly higher fee, shown before you pay.

Cleats, athletic wear, and water. No pads needed — this is a non-contact evaluation. Arrive 30 minutes early for check-in and measurables.

Tryouts #2 are Sunday, October 11, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM, in the South Valley (exact address TBA soon). Check-in opens 30 minutes early — arrive by 12:30 PM to get through measurables without rushing. We'll email every registered family the exact address as soon as it's confirmed.

The parent or legal guardian who signed the waiver online must be present at check-in with a photo ID and countersign the waiver in person. Athletes cannot participate until this is done, so plan for the signing parent to attend check-in.

A parent or guardian must complete registration and check-in for athletes under 18. Parents are welcome to watch from the designated sideline area.

Every athlete receives a written evaluation. The top 30 per grade are selected and the roster is locked shortly after tryouts, with a deposit due to secure the spot. The first FBU practice is November 15th, with weekly Sunday sessions from there, then a regional tournament in the Central Valley December 6–7, and the FBU National Championship in Naples, Florida, December 18–22.

Yes — checkout is handled entirely by Stripe, the same payment platform used by Amazon and Shopify. Card details never touch our servers.
