Tryout FAQ

Athletes in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. All positions are welcome — quarterbacks, skill positions, linemen, and specialists all get position-specific evaluation periods. 30 spots per grade, 90 total.

Age on August 1st is the official cutoff for age-based placement. Players are placed by current school grade first, with age as the tiebreaker. Playing up a grade division is allowed; playing down is not permitted — no exceptions.

Your full tryout session: check-in, measurables, position-group drills, live evaluation periods, and a written evaluation. A processing & service fee is added at checkout — $23.31 total when paying by card or Cash App; buy-now-pay-later options (Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm) carry a slightly higher fee, shown before you pay.

Cleats, athletic wear, and water. No pads needed — this is a non-contact evaluation. Arrive 30 minutes early for check-in and measurables.

Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blackbeard's in Fresno, CA. Check-in opens 30 minutes early — arrive by 6:30 AM to get through measurables without rushing.

The parent or legal guardian who signed the waiver online must be present at check-in with a photo ID and countersign the waiver in person. Athletes cannot participate until this is done, so plan for the signing parent to attend check-in.

A parent or guardian must complete registration and check-in for athletes under 18. Parents are welcome to watch from the designated sideline area.

Every athlete receives a written evaluation. The top 30 per grade are selected and the roster is locked shortly after tryouts, with a deposit due to secure the spot. Then Sunday training through October and November, a regional tournament in the Central Valley December 6–7, and the FBU National Championship in Naples, Florida, December 18–22.
